Czech Technical University in Prague is one of the oldest institutes of technology in Central Europe. It is also the oldest non-military technical university in Europe. It maintains close relations with partner Universities (more than 100 all over the world) both in the frameworks of the main official programs (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci), and via bilateral cooperation agreements including agreements for PhD joint supervision and training partnership networks.
The Department of Physical Electronics of the Faculty of Nuclear Science and Physical Engineering of CTU has the staff of more than 40 professors and research associates. Its research is devoted in laser technology, coherent and non-linear optics, x – ray optics, laser interaction with matter and computational modelling of physical processes.
Key person for this project is Professor Jiří Limpouch. His research is oriented towards various aspects of theory and simulation of laser produced plasmas, laser matter interactions and target dynamics.
